Academic results

168’s has again achieved very pleasing results and we commend the efforts and dedication of our students and the staff and parents who support them.

Across all domains (Writing, Reading, Spelling, Grammar and Punctuation, and Numeracy) and all tested year levels (Years 3, 5, 7 and 9), 168’s results are, again, well above state and national averages.

While we no longer have comparative data to report against, we believe our consistently strong results are commensurate with previous years, where 168’s ranked amongst the top-performing schools in Queensland.

168’s maintains a strong focus on literacy and numeracy as the foundation of all good learning and these results reflect the school’s commitment to ensuring all students have the best opportunities to develop these skills.

NAPLAN results are used both individually and collectively. Individually, they provide important insights to a child’s progress, strengths and areas requiring further development. Collectively, the results ensure we are meeting our commitment to developing strong foundational skills and are used to further inform curriculum programs and delivery throughout the school.

These results are but one measure among many that contribute to the well-rounded education 168’s provides to our students.

Class of 2023: Outstanding Academic Achievements

We congratulate the graduates of 2023 on their final academic results.

The 168’s student body represents a diverse community of learners who can explore a range of pathways that cater for their interests and passions as they discover their strengths and aspirations. The infographic below outlines some of the more significant markers representing both our ATAR and Portfolio Pathway Students.

168’s is a non-selective school that consistently achieves above state and national averages across the key academic markers. The graduates of 2023 are no exception and have achieved outstanding academic results.

We present these results to our community as just one aspect of a 168's education, the hallmark of which has always been the education of the whole child. Our graduates leave the school with a rich student experience encompassing a focus on academic excellence alongside a multitude of extracurricular opportunities through sport, the arts and many clubs and activities, and personal growth experiences offered through our student wellbeing programs. It is with the benefit of their enthusiastic engagement in all aspects of school life that our graduates leave the school well equipped to embark upon the next stage of their personal and learning journeys.

Under the ATAR system, students have the option to withhold their results from the school. Therefore, the statistics below represent 117 of our 118 ATAR eligible students.

We congratulate our top performing student who achieved 99.95, one of only 34 perfect scores from over 27,000 Year 12 Queensland graduates.

We wish our graduated Year 12 students all the best in their future studies and endeavours.

We thank and acknowledge our dedicated teachers for their stewardship of the learning journey of our seniors and also our parents and guardians, together with many 168's alumni, who have all worked in partnership with us throughout their daughter's schooling.
